Cressida is a qualified dance and fitness instructor based in Bristol. She set up Bristol’s very first school of salsa around 20 year’s ago teaching all over the city in halls, nightclubs & bars.
After a break from teaching Salsa she is launcbing new classes in Fishponds in Sept.
DanceFit is Cressida’s own style of dance & fitness class, similar to Zumba / Zumba Gold but with more dance technique and some partner or group dancing. DanceFit
Her previous background was as the leading promoter of Salsa congresses in the UK. Under the banner of Club Cubana, Cressida set up the 1st UK Salsa Congress at Pontins, Brean Sands, in 1998, and continued to run these events around the country until 2015. She organised a staggering 62 congresses over her time as a promoter & won several awards for services to Salsa in the UK.
Cressida has been involved in many styles of dance over the years, as a student, teacher, choregrapher or performer: Salsa, Merengue, Leroc, Swing, Lambada, Jazz Dance, Contemporary, International Folk etc. Dance is her passion! She taught dance and games in secondary school prior to teaching adults. She has also taught children and disabled adults.
Currently Cressida is a member of the newly formed contemporary dance group “Gerry’s Attic Dance” who performed recently at the forthcoming Harbourside Festival in Bristol.
